MERCOSUL

Term which designs Mercado Comum do Sul, economic block of South America’s countries that was created in 1991 aiming for improvements and benefits involving transitions between the members countries. Nowadays it’s composed by nine countries, which are divided into Estados Partes (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay) and into Estados Associados (Chile, Bolivia, Equator, Colombia, and Peru).

An example of Mercosul performance was the foundations of Banco do Sul, idealized by Hugo Chaves, with the objective of raising money between members countries, and, for competition with similarly institutions, like IMF (International Monetary Fund).

Another example of it’s actuation was the Tratado do Livre Comercio (Free Trade Deal) with Israel, which brings many benefits for the economy of the members countries, since Israel is a great importer.
